CNC Machining Technology and Puyue’s OneStop OEM Solution for Global Industrial Projects
What is CNC Machining? How Does CNC Machining Work?
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines are electromechanical equipment that operate cutting tools across multiple axes — most commonly 3axis or 5axis — to produce parts with high precision, guided by preprogrammed computer instructions.
CNC machining and 3D printing (additive manufacturing) are two primary methods to turn digital design files into physical components. The core difference lies in their working principles. CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process: material is removed from a solid workpiece. By contrast, 3D printing builds parts by adding material layer by layer.

How Do CNC Machines Work?
Different machining tasks require various cutting tools, as no single tool can handle all operations. Machinists create digital tool libraries that communicate with physical CNC equipment. Following digital commands, the machine can automatically swap tools, making it a highly efficient production solution.
CNC machines are categorized by their motion axes. Basic units support 2axis or 2.5axis movement, where only two axes move simultaneously. 3axis machines move along X, Y and Z axes. A 5axis CNC machine adds two rotational axes on top of the three linear axes.
Thanks to its extra degrees of freedom, 5axis CNC machining delivers nearly unlimited production possibilities for complex precision parts.
At Puyue Industrial, we leverage advanced CNC machining capacity to deliver highprecision custom metal components for global industrial clients. Our machining workshop houses over 60 sets of 3axis, 4axis and 5axis machining centers, together with diversified lathe equipment. This comprehensive equipment lineup supports complex part processing for valve bodies, butterfly valve discs, valve glands and other critical industrial castings.
Our 5axis CNC machining capability enables us to produce intricate geometries with tight dimensional tolerances, which is vital for highend valve parts used in petrochemical, water treatment, oil & gas and mining projects. We conduct strict inprocess inspection throughout the whole machining workflow, ensuring each finished component meets customer drawing requirements and international standards.
Combined with our inhouse casting capabilities, Puyue Industrial provides a complete onestop OEM solution covering casting mold design, precision casting, CNC machining and surface treatment. Supported by PED, ISO and LRQA certifications, we offer reliable, compliant custom machining services for customers across Europe, the UK, South Africa and other global markets.
